Thanks for the new couch Gramma!
Pearlie girl…
Posted in Pearl on 08/26/2010 03:49 pm by KimToday’s note:
Since Pearl has arrived we have trained her well. She is now using both our chairs and the grandkids couch. We are totally under control, as I send this message Pearl has found that the couch is not bad at all. We just came in from playing ball, so it is rest time. Next week we head to the lake and will also get some pictures with a friend I worked with and get a few pictures of Pearl and the police car and maybe the police boat. Pearl wants to tell you that we are sending a box today filled with love. Kim, what a joy Pearl is in our lives!! Mike & Thelma
Pearl update!
Posted in Pearl on 08/18/2010 01:10 pm by KimFrom Mike:
Mrs. Nellie,
We took our walk this morning and all went well. Diva was great. Some of the neighbors did not know of Maverick’s passing. Today was a walk of great joy mixed with a few tears. Pearl is now under my desk, we just had our fun with her toys. Thanks for the information on her meal. It’s 4pm, so at 6pm I will feed her. Last night Pearl slept by me. We did not get to bed until 1am. I will send a few pictures later today. Kim, she is such a joy to be around and spend time with. I hope to next week get the picture with the police car. Well Mrs. Nellie will E-mail later with the pictures. Mike I am going to put your phone numbers in our phone
Have ya shown her off to the neighborhood? Is she being a good girl?My last nervous nellie moment… don’t forget to cover her dinner in water, not floating kibble but close. She bolts it down and there’s a chance she would bloat. She sets a corgi speed eating record at dinner time.Hugs to all of you!
Safe and sound…

Pearlie’s spending the morning with me at work. Her red eye flight was a no go as the puddle jumper from Houston to OKC was in a wind up plane with a non pressurized cargo compartment. So she leaves on the 130 this afternoon, arriving OKC at 10pm their time. I’m a little worried about the transfer in Houston since it’s so hot but Continental assures me they will have a truck standing by for her arrival. She gets placed in the air conditioned truck and is given water and they wait for her connecting flight to depart where she will be last on.
Add to the stress here in Seattle with the President arriving at 1130 (same time we are supposed to be there), for some last minute campaign assistance for the dems on tonites ballot.
Mike says she’ll get some VIP treatment at the OKC airport as he still has several friends working patrol there.
This is what it is all about…
Posted in Pearl on 08/13/2010 02:29 pm by KimFriends and family constantly ask “How can you place a dog you love so much?”.
Here’s your answer:
We received the Diva’s package. The only thing missing was Miss Pearl herself. Kim, words can’t express how happy you made this old policeman. The only thing that I can do for you is to let you know we will treat Miss Pearl like a queen. Looking at her history is like watching the old show with Ralph Edwards “This is Your Life”. This has been the best day of my life since Maverick passed away. Since meeting you and seeing Miss Pearl I feel a bond has been made for life. We have everything set up for the Diva and now wait for her arrival. Thelma is going to help a teacher out who is going to go into the hospital and can’t teach for four weeks. This will give me alot of alone time with Pearl to bond. Thelma said she can do her bonding after school. I will be looking and reading her life book very closely. Kim, again many thanks and may your corgis always stand tall. Mike
