updates!
Posted in Misc on 11/05/2009 04:25 pm by KimSorry I haven’t blogged in a while… between the crud and house remodel we’ve been a bit behind.
The crud was just a bad bad cold and other than the cough that refuses to die, I’m on the mend!
My cardiologist appt was Monday and we’ve decided NO SURGERY FOR ME! =) After his last attempt at killing me (we’ve found out I am deathly allergic to flecainide) and me regulating my own dose of metoporol I’ve found that the very minimal dose of 25 mg/day is keeping the tachycardia away! And I can still drink coffee! Most people take 400 mg/day so the doc was amazed at what the minimal dose does for me. I’ve gone from 10-15 events a day to NONE. OK… the event last week after I ate 4 fudgesicles for breakfast (sore throat) doesn’t count. I was asking for it with that much caffeine.
The house remodel is underway in full force. All the carpet is pulled out and so far Mark has gotten the two spare bedrooms and hallway done. It’s a long painful process making sure corners/walls etc line up properly. I go through and primer and paint the rooms and ceilings before he gets to them.
Mobile homes are pieces of sh!t. Nothing is square, every damn wall has vinyl wallpaper with frigging black kitties looking out windows on it. ARGHHHH a nightmare! One room took a gallon of primer! Don’t get me started on the highs and lows in the floors that had to be grinded down with a belt sander. I’m still finding dust in the sheets, dishes, underware…
I have learned to hit Lowes paint section daily to get awesome deals on miss tints! Regularly upwards of $30/gallon are $5! I’ve found some amazing colors for the interior so far. Copper, caramel, plum, chocolate!
During the demo process I had a wee accident of stepping through a floor vent all the way up to my thigh. It’s now a lovely shade of green and my finger that got jammed matches! Mark says I’m not allowed to be a construction worker when I grow up.
The dogs are pissed, they’ve been pretty much locked outside for a week except to come in and sleep at night. Ana takes it out on my chickens. I think she’s eaten 2 so far and I’ve saved two others she tried to eat.
We’ve got the Monroe show next weekend with Dash, Callie and Ana entered.
And I turn FORTY next week… bah! this one really bothers me!
And finally… Mirage goes in for hips, elbows etc on the 20th and I’ve decided to pre-lim Dash dog at the same time. crossing fingers!

I’m glad you don’t need surgery!
Mine are poultry killers, too. So far a goose and one chicken, and an assault and another goose and a chicken. They aren’t allowed out of sight anymore.

The remodel sounds like gruesome work — I hope you took a bunch of before photos so we can all applaud the difference.

Wow you’ve been busy!!! Ouch on falling through the floor!
Congrats on the no surgery! Yeah for drugs!
Good luck in Monroe, we’ll be in Roseburg.
Salem this weekend, crossing fingers that Liam will be finished since he only needs 3 points. But I’m knocking on wood not to curse anything.
See you sometime soon! Vancouver in December?

I look forward to seeing the changes to your home. The colors sound gorgeous.
Good luck in Monroe.
I’m so glad you don’t have to have the surgery. I know you weren’t looking forward to it.
You ought to take Ana on a Wildlife Safari type zoo and show her an ostrich.
Some things do get better after 40. Really, really.
Good luck next week with Monroe and x-rays the week after.
Lots going on for you guys!!

You can also stay 39 forever – that was my magic number this year. But I say we are fine wine – just getting better and better! So glad to hear about NO SURGERY! and best wishes with the remodel. We are tackling that in the spring.

40 was a hard birthday, but then the 40′s weren’t so bad after all. Now 60 is beginning to look younger and younger.
Glad that you won’t have to go the surgery route.

Golly!
I’m glad you don’t have to have surgery:)
I’m desperate for some color in our house- I’ll have to hit up lowes!
Copper sounds divine….:)

YAY!!!! No surgery!!!!!!! And that coffee part is way important, too!
Seriously, the 40 thing isn’t that big a deal, especially when no one would guess it!!!

You are a busy girl! Happy early B-Day, I hated turning 40, but some people are not bothered by it. Its a state of mind I guess!!

Metroprolol is great for lowering blood pressure AND regulating heart rate and is a very common drug- nice low dose too- sure beats the heck out of surgery!!! Getting old is a bitch, isn’t it?? Need to send pics of Lily soon. Happy B-day!!
